there are ways to speed up your computer, just Google "how to speed up your computer" or "how to speed up your internet" that's how I got my computer from sllllllllllllllllllooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwww to, well at least tolerable.
Also make sure you got an antivirus program, I have AVG free edition and it works great. Also you can go on a windows XP or Vista computer (maybe higher versions too) click start> all programs> accessories> system tools> and use Disk Defragmenter or Disk Cleanup.

If you're using WiFi at home, increasing the speed depends on your environment: For example, if you have many other wireless connections nearby, it may cause interference and slow your connection down. Try adjusting the wireless channel with your router's administration utility. Many routers have a default channel and people rarely change this setting, so what you end up with is a lot of people using the same channel when a nearby channel is open. The best way is to experiment with different channels and see which one is best in your location. Also consider locating the wireless router in a central location, off the ground and away from interference sources such as microwaves, television sets, computer equipment and monitors, etc.
