What type of energy does the computer use?

Computers run off of DC power. There is an internal converter on desktops, and the large block on a laptop cord is the converter for them. On laptops, a battery runs things, batteries are DC power.

If your power supply's fan no longer works what is the best course of action?

Replace the power supply. Power supplies are pretty inexpensive and usually range $40-$60 for 400watts. Recommend you replace this as soon as possible. NOTE: the power supply is one of the four components which require a fan as it builds up alot of heat. The other three are processor, video card, and the case itself.

What hardware system do you first assume is at fault?

The obvious answer would be the Power Supply Unit (PSU). This starts the computer and without it nothing can work. On the other hand if you have a faulty mother board or RAM, the computer would switch on but nothing would be shown on the screen. The PSU is found on the highest part of the tower. Also check the the switch (if it has) is switched on, and that the power supply cable (the 3 pin one) works.

What is the computer power supply?

A power supply unit is a device that supplies electrical energy to one or more electric loads. As a computer part, the PSU supplies power to the rest of the computer. The power supply unit converts wall current into the right kind of power for the individual parts of your computer. The current produced is clean direct current that is 12 volts, 5 volts, and other correct voltages. The PSU then distributes the power throughout the system internally to hard drives, DVD/CD drives, floppy drives, GPU's, the motherboard and any other parts as well.

How do i explain how a computer works in my own words?

We can not supply you with "your own words" only YOU can do that.

Why you use constant current source?

What follows below is not a full description. Full descriptions are in chapters of books about electronic power supplies.A constant current source is an electronic device which acts as a source of power whereby, however the load resistance changes - within a certain fixed range - the device is designed to monitor the output current drawn from it and will change its output voltage to keep the output current constant within a certain fixed range.Another answerA constant current source will provide constant current with a load if the load changes the volts will change to compensate for the constant current flowing. Which is just opposite to a constant voltage source whereby a load change will change the current but not the voltage. And that how it works.

If the power supply of the xbox 360 is damaged how can it still provide energy for the console?

If the power supply still works then yes.

What is Switch mode regulated power supply?

A switching mode power supply works by converting electrical power efficiently by converting voltage and current characteristics. However, it minimizes wasted energy by constantly utilizing on and off states.

How does power supply failure alarm circuit works?

Power supplies don't fail. Idiot.

What is phantom power supply and how does it work in audio equipment?

Phantom power supply is a method used in audio equipment to provide power to microphones that require it to function. It works by sending a direct current voltage through the microphone cable, typically 48 volts, to power the microphone's internal circuitry without affecting the audio signal being transmitted.

Detail of switched mode power supply?

A switched mode (or switching) power supply is one that uses pulse-width modulation technology, rather than linear technology, to provide the voltage required to a load. Often, it requires no power transformer, nor is a great deal of power developed across the power supply, which reduces size, cost, and heat. It works by the fact that inductors resist a change in current. There is a high voltage power supply, often 160VDC running directly off the AC line. A transistor or other switching device supplies power to an inductor, which is in series with the load. There is also a Schottky diode from the input side of the inductor to ground. When the transistor is on, voltage is supplied to the inductor, which supplies current to the load. When the transistor is off, back voltage from the inductor is shunted to ground through the diode, and the inductor continues to supply current to the load. A pulse-width modulator monitors the load voltage, and adjusts the transistor on time at a high frequency. The average current flow, and thus the average load voltage, remain constant. Since the transistor turns on hard - it is in saturation - very little voltage drop is across it. As a result, very little power is developed, resulting in less overall heat.

How does a change over switch works?

When the supply from GEB is cut away, at that time the consumer is required to change over from the main supply to the private generator, so that he cut the supply from mains and switches to Generator with a change over switch.

What is a phantom power supply and how does it work in audio equipment?

A phantom power supply is a method of providing power to certain types of microphones that require it to function. It works by sending a low-voltage electrical current through the microphone cable, allowing the microphone to operate without needing its own power source. This is commonly used in professional audio equipment to power condenser microphones and other devices that need additional power to operate effectively.
