Maybe try adjusting the horizontal and/or vertical sync in the projector. Most projectors have a menu setting that allows you to adjust those two sync values. By playing with those, you should see the image "re-center" itself so that no pixels are falling off the projected area.

Barring that, I don't know if your laptop itself can skew the sync signals such that the projector is happy. You could also try different cables and/or connecting directly to the projector if you're not, since the cabling and/or any intermediate device may make the skew worse.

Also, you could try a digital signal such as HDMI or DVI-D. Since they're digital, I don't think they suffer from video signal skew.

Meaning of a keystone in a visual projector?

If you show a projector squarely at the screen or wall it should make a perfect rectangular display. If you shine it upwards the top of the display will become wider than the bottom, making a trapaziodal shape. It looks kind of like this: .------------ . ..\ .your../.. ...\ ..pix../... ....------- .... This can easily happen when the projector is sitting on a desk, and it must be aimed upwards for the room to see it. This effect is called "keystoning". It is named from the stone at the top of a masonry arch which has this shape. Manufacturers have included built in controls that allow you to adjust the image to compensate for this effect. So when aimed up, you adjust the "keystone" so that the top becomes narrower, making the image rectangular again, with the sides nicely parallel.

Where is the auto adjust button on a computer?

You would find the "Auto Adjust" button on most of the monitors. The Auto Adjustment feature automatically adjusts the fine, coarse, and position on your monitor to the incoming video signal. The button is mostly located on the front of the monitor. If you are using the Digital (DVI or HDMI) connection on your monitor, Auto Adjust will not work. This function is applicable only if you are using a VGA cable to connect the monitor to a computer.
