He died after the battle. But Vader brought Starkiller to Kamino, and because of the cloning technology, Starkiller is brought to life. There is one little problem. He doesn't remember his past. And Vader took Starkiller to Kamino to make an army of Starkillers. So in the game, you eventually play as Starkiller to make him remember his past.
