a) Server is down. b) Network is down. c) Server is set up not to reply to pings. d) Server is behind firewall to which you have limited or no access. e) (Always a possibility) Your computer is broken.
ping
The ping 127.0.0.1 has host name Loopback, and is used to ping your server to verify software. On the command prompt, the technician would type, PING '127.0.0.1' or PING LOOPBACK.
ping -t 10.3.9.42To ping the server at 10.3.9.42 you have to:Open Command Prompt, byFor Windows XP:Open the start menu, click on "Run..." then type cmd then press enter orclick OK.For Windows Vista:Open the start menu, and type cmd then press enter.Type ping using in this case 10.3.9.42, or for any other server type its website or its ip address, then press enter. This will send a very small file to the server (ping), and then it sends it back 4 times (pong). After this process it will show you how long it took to receive the data, how many of them timed out, the average time, and the highest and lowest time.
On Windows you go to Start > Run > Type "cmd" without the quotes ENTER type "ping ", followed by the IP address of the server you want to ping. ex. "ping www.google.be" ENTER The response time is your ping. (basically it's a measurement of time needed to send a signal between your PC & another PC or device.)
ping 127.0.0.1
Check to make sure your firewall is not blocking ping ICMP requests on the server. Also, check to see if the clients can ping each other and the default gateway for starters.
Ping is not a problem with storage, but your connection to the server. With ping, a packet is sent to the server and waits for the Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) response. The time it take between sending and recieving is your ping. The poorer the connection or further away you are, the longer it will take.
ping
Ping is the delay from you to the server. If you experience a high ping, try to join another server closer to your location.
Ping -a (servername)
confusing question but ping on a user is what discribes how good of a connection the player has to that server how close he lives next to server and internet speed. If you have more then 80 ping its considered laggin.
DNS issue
The "Server" is the player who is serving or has served the ball at the start of the point.
You should check your console after it happens to see what is causing it.Some possibilities:-You timed out.-Your ping was too high.-Your graphics card couldn't handle a certain entity or texture.-A malicious script is disconnecting you from the server.
stop cheating
We can check from the server by using PING command. We should use give the client name or IP address followed by the PING commands. For example PING 128.0.0.156 -n 4 Where -n and the 4 is no echo requests to send times. If the client is connect with the server the reply is coming with some informations.
Option 1: You could always ping the server from the command line of the PC (assuming windows O/S). This will give you the current IP address of the server. Example if you open a command line in WIndows and type PING www.google.com you will get a return IP address. For your server just ping the server by name and see what is returned as the IP and use that for VNC. So, you would want to type at the command line: PING "YOUR_SERVER_NAME" <--enter your servers name on the network.
