There are many options, but personally, what I would do is set up a guest account in windows which does not have access to most of the computer. This way, they can explore the internet, print, save files, listen to music, etc, but not have access to any of your files and programs.

You certainly don't want to get liquids inside the computer. Then you should unplug the computer from the wall and from any landline phone connections. That is to protect the computer from electrical damage and to protect yourself from electric shock. Then you should make sure you are grounded to where you won't have any static discharge.
