The modern computer developed from the earliest calculators. Nobody made the computer right away. Computers similar to the ones we have today were made at about the same time as arcade machines came out (Late 1970s).

"Who" dicovered the computer, I am not sure, but Bill Gates made Microsoft Windows.

Computers were never invented by a single person. The invention of the computers we know today took place in many steps.

Its like before development of cars the cycles were developed and before that the wheel.

The first thing you need to understand is that what is computer ?

We can say, computer is an electronic machine that can do arithmetical,Logical and graphical processes instantly.

The computers were discovered in phases just like i said before.

The first machine was the abacus and the pascal calculating machine.[SIMPLER]

Then came the difference and analytical engine by Charles Babbage.[A LITTLE COMPLICATED]

In 20th century came the sophisticated Analog computers.

After that the programmable computers were introduced that were slow but yes a step ahead to the today's computers.

Then silicon chips were introduced and chip-boards were made to replace the wires.

That is the time after which the silicon chips came and the technology started to become more and more small and compact and lead to today's computers.

The answer to this one is a bit tricky. First you have to define what you want to call a computer. The ancient Greeks built a computational device using geometry that tracked the positions of astrological phenomena thousands of years ago. The first computational adding machines that I know of began to appear in the 1800's, which are also considered computational engines. The first computers I can think of that would fit the more modern use of the word came about during World War II. They were being developed for uses in artillery and code breaking.

What did john napier accomplish in computer history?

John Napier was a 16th century mathematician, so he was unaware even of the concept of a computer. He is mostly remembered for his mathematical discovery of the logarithm, a discovery which has lead to innumerable applications in every field of science. While there are indeed many uses for logarithms in computer science, to say that they are a part of computer history is like saying that the sine function is a part of the Big Bang theory's history.
