yes just x32 OS cannot
A 32 bit Windows XP can only address 3GB of RAM. To take advantage of all 4 GB and beyond, use 64bit version.
The minimum requirement for RAM to run windows 7 is 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit).
Are you using a 32 bit or 64bit OS? 32 bit only supports a maximum of 4 GB of ram
3 GB of ram can use for core 2 duo
2 gigabytes of RAM is what you should get for a Touch screen laptop. If you only find 1 gigabyte, you can upgrade it with a 1 gigabyte RAM chip.
Depending on which version of Windows, or Mac you use it can be between 1 and 2 GB of RAM needed For Windows 7 it is usually 1 GB of RAM, and if you use Mac then you will need 2 GB
The maximum ram available on a MacBook depends on the model of the MacBook. The earlier models had a maximum of 2 GB of ram but the newer models have up to 6 GB of ram.
It’s generally better to replace the 2 4 GB RAM cards with 2 8 GB RAM cards for optimal performance and compatibility, as mixing different sizes can lead to suboptimal memory speeds and may not utilize dual-channel architecture effectively. Upgrading to a total of 16 GB (2x8 GB) will provide better performance for most applications. However, if you already have the 4 GB cards and want to save costs, adding the 2 8 GB cards can still work, just be aware you might not achieve the best performance possible.
The maximum RAM supported by Windows 8 64-bit is 128 GB. This limit is applicable to the standard edition of Windows 8; other editions, such as Windows 8 Pro and Enterprise, also support this maximum. However, the actual amount of RAM you can use may also depend on your motherboard and hardware specifications.
