You can apparently 'roll back' a Windows 8 computer to Windows 7... HOWEVER - some computer manufacturers have said they will not repair a Windows 8 machine (even if it's still under warranty) if it's been rolled back ! They claim rolling a Windows 8 machine back to Windows 7 voids the warranty !

The operating system "Windows 7" was released for public use in October of 2009. The Operating system that it replaced was "Windows Vista", a very troubled Operating system. The new OS to upgrade from Windows 7 is Windows 8 and it was released in October of 2012.

If you mean "Visual Styles" by saying "Themes", the extensions of windows 7 and windows 8 visual styles are different. That makes it almost impossible to install windows 7 visual styles on windows 8. There may be other alternatives for it.
Because windows 8 themes are basically still windows 7 themes, they just have windows 8 graphics as the background colour. Thier coding is still the same.
