Calibre can convert epub to mobi, but it cannot remove DRM on books you purchased from B&N. Some epub books don't have DRM (like the classics you find on project gutenberg) and those can be converted by calibre.
There is software that removes DRM but It's a violation of your licensing agreement on those books you purchased that have DRM. If you don't care, then just Google removing DRM from nook or kindle books and it will point you in the right direction. Once DRM has been removed, Calibre can do the conversion
You cannot directly transfer Kindle books to a Nook, as they use different file formats and are protected by DRM. However, you can use software like Calibre to convert the Kindle books to a compatible format for the Nook. Keep in mind that this may breach the terms of service of the books and is not always legal.
Kindle because you can get more books for free.
yes
No. Unless you can somehow download it to your computer and change the format of the book to one the Nook can read. No. They are each their own different brands, so you cannot access the nook store on the kindle. If they have DRM - no, cannot be opend with a kindle. If the do not have DRM - they can be converted using third party software (e.g. calibre). Kindle books use a proprietary format that can only be read on Kindles or devices running a Kindle app including the iPhone, Android phones, iPad, Mac and PC. The Nook can not read ebook in the Kindle format. Both the Kindle and Nook can read ebooks in some other common formats but these are used for free ebook titles that are one or two centuries old. No. Books that are on Kindle devices are ".mobi" files. Nooks read ".epub" files. As of 3/25/12, there is no way to put books from your Nook onto your Kindle.
The Nook cannot read Amazon ebooks in Amazon's proprietary AZN format. In cases where the Amazon ebook is not protected with DRM (digital rights management), it may be possible to use free software to convert the Amazon book to a format compatible with Nook.
You can use Calibre to convert it to EPUB or PDF
You can, but it probably won't work unless it's compatible. The Kindle can read a great deal of formats, but it's preferable that you use their own: .azw format. It will read DRM-free .mobi (so public domain books are fine) and PDFs, etc., but don't purchase ebooks from other major online stores until you've made sure they're compatible.
Amazon sells the Kindle. The Nook is from Barnes and Noble. Both of them are dedicated eReaders, for use with digital books.
A nook and a kindle are the same thing that do the same things. HOWEVER... one has more than the other. If you are interested about the books rather than just the 3G features and games and such, the nook (by Barnes and Noble) has more than 2 million books available, some of them are even free. The Kindle (by Amazon) only has around 700,000. The kindle has free 3G everywhere you go that connects to the internet, but the nook has 3G for buying books in its store. The nook also has a lending feature so you can borrow or lend books that you buy, and even check out books from the library from the comfort of your couch.
Yes it is worth getting a nook or a kindle so you wont have a of books in your room.
the nook offers z wide selection of books from barnes and nobles book catalog. you can also find free books from Google books. you can import pdfs, and other non drom epub books. also you can not import kindle books such as amzn, whichis amazons lock on kindle books. so the nook offers many books from scifi to thriller.
