There are several different brands of RJ-45 Crimpers available that can be purchased from cheap to awfully high priced at all kinds of places such as; Radio Shack, Home Depot, Lowes, or any electrical supply store. First you will need to prepare the cable. You will have to strip the sheath off of it to reveal the eight (8) wires underneath. Make sure they are configured correctly. Here's a shortened version of the normal color code (configuration) from left to right (this is with the tab of the RJ-45 plug down and flat side up). (1st left)=White/Orange (2nd)= Orange/White (3rd)= White/Green (4th)=Blue/White (5th)=White/Blue (6th)=Green/White (7th)=White/Brown and finally, (8th)=Brown/White.Basically, you take the RJ-45 modular plug, (which you can purchase at the same place you bought your crimper at) insert the CAT5 cable into the back side of it in the order described above, insert them into the plug, then insert the plug into the crimper, squeeze the handle, pull the plug out to inspect it to make sure the wires are in the same order you wanted them to be in, and that they are all the way up to the end of the plug on the inside (the plugs are clear, so you can view them internally). If all of that's okay, you're done. Good job!
Yes they pass through, and require an EZ-RJ45 crimp tool. They only come in bags of 100.

A male RJ45 plug is specifically designed to fit an RJ45 socket. You would need a device that takes both allows you to plug both coax and an RJ45 connector into it. Perhaps a cable modem? Kind regards, Gareth
