How do you find out your computers IP address?

Go to Start > Run.

In the Run window type CMD and click Ok.

In the command prompt enter the command ipconfig your IP address will be listed under your local connection (your internet connection), this is not always accurate if you use a router, for better results try ipchicken.com
Another method (If you are using windows) is to run command prompt and type (Without quotes) "ipconfig"
Well it's diferant for mac and windows! I hope you have windows! Go to start, type in "cmd", then type in "ipconfig". Your IP will come up in an area allong with some other adresses. Your IP changes when you disconect from the internet, turn off your computer, or move to a diferant network so check it before you send som one it for a game server!
Google the word ip for the external ip.

start-->run-->"cmd"-->"ipconfig /all" for the internals

It depends on which IP address you'd like to find:

To check your internal IP address (on Windows):

Head to Start > Run > cmd.

To check your external IP:

Do a search in Google for "what's my IP" - the search engine should actually tell you your IP in the results. If not, simply choose one of the web results that appear, or simply try one of the services listed in the related links.

To get an IP address you can one of two things:

For the internel Ip address ( not usually needed ) do this:

1. Go to the start menu

2. Click run

3. type in "cmd" without the ""s.

4. type in "ipconfig /all" without the ""s.

Then you will be given a line that says something like this:

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.2

The Ip address is: 192.168.1.2

For the externel IP ( Needed most often for any computer outside your network):

1. From the Start menu, right-click Network, and then select Properties. This opens the Network and Sharing Center.
2. To view the IP address of a wired connection, click View Status to the right of Local Area Connection.

   To view the IP address of a wireless adapter, click View Status to the right of Wireless Network Connection.

3. Click Details... . Look for the address next to "IPv4 IP Address".

The easiest way to find this out is to open a command prompt window and type the command:

ipconfig

In all the information that pops up, you should see a line that says "IP Address" and has a number that you can recognize as an IP address, probably in the 192.168.x.x address range.

If you want to know what your public IP address is (as assigned by your Internet provider), then go to http://www.ipchicken.com and it will tell you.
