Working drives automatically show up in My Computer on XP. Perhaps it is not working.
Go to system settings when the computer starts to boot up, and then it will show you what drive is your hard drive. The hard drive is what the computer normally boots in unless changed and the letter is normally C:/
The hard drive is not included. This is just an enclosure. Once you add a drive and plug it into a USB port, It would show up under my computer as a drive letter.
Yes it does. The card will show up as a drive under "My Computer"
yes it can. restart it then put your hard drive and boom your good:)
There are many ways to increase the storage space on your computer. You can obtain and additional external hard drive that will give you more storage space when attached to your computer. You can also move existing files from your computer's internal hard drive to an external hard drive to clear up space on the internal hard drive. You can also compress files on your computer that you do not use often to free up space on your hard drive.
when the icon pops up click on it
How do you get a computer to boot up with no hard drive? What are the steps or what is the process of getting a hard drive installed into your computer if it is not bootable because of a missing hard drive.
no, the data stored on the hard drive will remain there. as soon as you connect the hard drive back up to the computer you will once again have full access to it like it was neither touched.
If you can, open up your computer and take the hard drive out. I would then take it to a computer store and have them transfer the data (If possible) to another hard drive.
First, make sure that your external hard drive is USB capable. If it uses firewire, then that might be the issue. If it is USB capable, then plug it into the powerbook. Wait at the most 1 minute for it to recognize the external hard drive. If it does not appear on the screen, you may want to try and plug it in on a second computer. If it doesn't show up on a second computer, the hard drive may have a problem/bug. If it does show up, then drag the selected files onto the hard drive. If it says you can't, then there probably isn't enough room on the hard drive to store the files. That is about all that can be explained to you from the information given.
you put it into the computer and something will show up on the screen
Use an external hard drive, or USB Flash drive.
