it is highly unlikely that a hard disk is write protected. secondly it is possible for an administrator to block users to access or write on hard disk areas. if you are the admin, you have to most likely format the system as it seems to be a virus with special privileges.
always backup all critical data as there is an imminent risk of system crash as the virus is likely to destroy the system slowly by corrupting data & also stealing information by restricting access.
Write-protection has nothing to do with playback. Playback only requires the ability to read the discs and decode them. If you cannot play a DVD, make sure the disc is clean and undamaged, and that you have a DVD decoder program installed.
NO, DVD rom can only read DVD discs.
You can use DVD shrink 2.3. This is the only version that will work because it is old and does not comply with the copyright laws. Just make sure you only use it for personal use.
Ok DVD-ROM is not in your PC its in the front. Well you know what a DVD is but ROM stands for Read Only Memory, in over word it can only read DVD's.
All CD's and DVD's are read-only unless they are specified "re-writable".
A DVD ROM is a "Read only Memory*" it is the disk itself and as such it cannot burn anything. A DVD reader can only read DVDs. A DVD writer can write som recordable DVD formats.
Computers do read DVD-Rs but if your computer doesn't read DVD-Rs you may not have a DVD Drive. To make sure you have one, Look on the drive. If it says Compact Disk, that means CDs only. If it says Compact Disk and DVD R/RW you cab view and burn DVDs
No. There's no file system on it, and thus nothing to read.
Pick one: ROM, PROM, EPROM write-protected magnetic disk/tape, CD-ROM, DVD-R write-protected partition/file, other user's or sysadmin's file code-segment, read-only data-segment, other user's or kernel's code- or data-segment
DVD-Rs cannot be erased.
Read/ write drives allow you to write DVDs. ROMs only read.
DVD = Digital Video Disc ROM = Read Only Memory A DVD ROM disk or disc (spell it either way if fine) is a digital video disc that can only be read versus a DVD-R(ecordable) disc that can be written to or recorded to. ROM discs only can be read and the READ ONLY tells you just that. MEMORY just means the data that is stored on the disc.
