There is no way, unfortunately, but such a feature is on the Winamp wishlist. The Winamp library cannot list the same file twice, so you're not going to have multiple iterations of the same file on your disk in the first place. If you, on the other hand, have duplicate songs on your hard drive that you want removed, I'd recommend a duplicate file cleaner (Google will bring up a nice list of programs that will get the job done), then use the "Remove missing files from media library" option on Winamp to remove the entries for the files the duplicate cleaner removed.
Winamp has a bug, that you can't simply delete an artist from the library with one 'remove' button. So the only way to do this is in the following steps: 1. Select an album by the artist under 'Album'. Select all tracks from the album in the track listing below (ctrl +a). Press 'delete' on your keyboard. 2. Repeat this process for all albums so that all tracks by the artist are deleted. 3. In the bottom left corner, click the 'Library' button. Select 'Remove missing files from media library'. The artist will be removed from the library. This will not affect your files and folders, only the library info in winamp. This is a pretty simple process if you have a couple of albums by the artist, but can get a little irritating if you have entire discographies. Winamp should fix this with a simple 'remove' button in its next version.
Try the Winamp 5 Media Library Import/Export Plug-in http://bluemars.org/ml_impex/wa5-ml_impex1.3.exe (c) AGico Or you can backup the files that this data is stored in, then after re-installing Winamp, just replace the new 'default' files with your backup files. This post will tell you where these files are stored: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=263471
Yes, it is generally safe to remove duplicate files found by a duplicate file fixer. To avoid accidental data loss, verify the files, keep at least one copy of each duplicate, and use the tool’s backup or restore option if available.
Yes, you can load songs from a USB drive to Winamp. Simply connect the USB drive to your computer, open Winamp, and navigate to the "Media Library" or "Local Media" section. From there, you can browse to the USB drive, select the songs you want, and add them to your playlist or library. Alternatively, you can drag and drop files directly from the USB drive into Winamp.
I don't think Winamp converts all your mp3 files. Your computer just shows them as winamp files now. They're still mp3 but your computer just sees em as winamp. My comp has the same thing. I don't know how to undo the computer seeing em as winamp, but there should be no problem using those files as regular mp3 files.
To convert files to mp3 format in winamp, select the files in the media library. After the files are selected right click the files and select send to file converter. From the settings in file converter select mp3 encoder. Adding further you can easily use any of the media converter, and covert the files quiet avidly
Yes, you can try Duplicate Files Fixer to scan your Mac for duplicate files. It helps identify duplicate photos, videos, documents, and other files, so you can review the results and remove unnecessary copies to free up storage space. Always review the selected files before deleting them to avoid removing anything important.
You can use a duplicate file finder to scan your Dropbox-synced folders and remove unnecessary copies. Duplicate Files Fixer by Systweak Software can help identify and clean up duplicate files quickly, freeing up storage space.
Well you try a good tool or app to remove the duplicate file form your itunes as doing it manually will take time.
Mp3s.. music
Yeah, there are tools for this. I’d try Systweak Duplicate Files Fixer — it can scan your folders/drives for duplicate photos, videos, documents, etc., and lets you review the results before deleting anything. Pretty handy if you’ve got years of random copies piling up.
You can use iTunes itself to remove duplicates. Go to View - Show duplicate items. That option works OK, but sometimes it deletes the wrong files (like songs with the same title that are different releases of the same song). To fix that go to View - Show Exact Duplicates. Alternatively you can use a duplicate finder that has an iTunes mode, like Easy Duplicate Finder.
