How do you use a fax with magic Jack?

I haven't use Magic Jack so I don't have an idea whether you can use it for faxing. If you want to send/receive fax then there are lots of free and paid internet faxing service provider you can register with like eFax, RingCentral, MyFax, MetroFax, etc.

It's a complicated answer, however it has to do with the way magic jack compresses the voice signal and how a fax does as well - the two are incompatible.

You would be best to get a fax service or a separate line for a fax machine.

It might, but really the answer is no.

The way MagicJack works makes it so that fax is very very unlikely to send.

MagicJack turns the phone signal into a transmission that is sent over the internet. Because of this, it scrambles the fax signal too much for it to be understood by the other fax machine most of the time.

While it may work on occassion, it's rarely a reliably way of sending and receiving faxes. A physical landline is usually needed for a fax machine to work, and not a VoIP service.

Some newer fax machines will work with Magic Jack. Magic Jack does not support faxing through their service, and success has been hit and miss.
