It is simple, especially when using no security or only wep security.
It is impossible when using wpa security. The only way is to collect the password from any computer that can access the network.
Btw so called "hidden" networks are not really hidden, they distribute so called beacon frames every 0.1 second or so.
False
A wireless modem is a convenient, fast and cost-effective way to access the internet. Users can connect to their internet service provider without the limitations of telephone lines or wires. This enables you to move freely throughout your home or office without losing your internet connection. This device saves money because you can establish a network that enables several people to use one internet connection to access the internet and use a single printer.
When setting up a small office, it's sometimes easier to use a wireless adapter card in your desktop computer than trying to run network cables to set up your network. While it's not a perfect solution, in most installations, it can allow for a much easier and faster setup. Using a wireless network, you can position your computers where you want without worrying about running cables or drilling holes in the walls, floors, or ceilings. While laptops normally come with wireless capabilities built in, you'll need to usually install a wireless network adapter card in most PC's. The only caveat to using wireless in a home office is if there's something that blocks or interferes with the wireless signal. Then you'd have to resort to a wired connection.
Wireless tends to be easier to configure, as running the cables can be a complicated activity. However, wireless is inherently less secure without proper configuration, which many less-technical people overlook when configuring a wireless network.
Yes, it's possible easier than you might think.
Wired provides a stronger signal and wireless allows more freedom to change location or provides an easier connection without having to run an ethernet cable
Configuration is easier in 100baseT. You do not have to worry about encryption. Before you can use 100baseT, you will have a lot more work as you have to lay cables to where you want internet connection in your house.
Mate I've done the same thing. You got to bridge the wireless connection and your local one and then you try it. I tried the same thing before but I'm telling you won't work. I've bought a wireless adaptor. Guess what. Life made easier. Your better off with one.
It depends on what kind of network you want to use. If you want to use usual home network you can purchase a wireless router and five wireless adapters one for each PC and connect all pcs to the wireless router. You can use lan connections you have to buy a lan switch with at least 5 RJ-45 ports. You will need 5 lan cables. Wireless configuration usually prefered because it's easier to maintance. If you want to have a network of industrial class you have to specify you question.
No. You need to have a wireless network set up at your house with a wireless router. If you already have internet then it is an easy transition. Just buy a router off of eBay and plug it in to your phone line. on the router, or with the router should come a WEP code, or a different code. You will need this to access you router, if it is not secured. Option 2: Use a neighbors unsecured network. Unsecured networks do not need WEP codes or anything else. although any ammature hacker should be alble to get past it, it is easier to us the unsecure one. Although it may have a weak connection. But that is what you pay for being cheap.
Why Would 100BaseT be easier to configure than wireless in a home? Why Would 100BaseT be easier to configure than wireless in a home?
No, why would you? I suggest just buying a wireless PCI card for the two desktops. It would make life much more easier. You can, what you need is a wireless router... this will allow you to have approximatly 4 ethernet ports and wireless access to your network, but look in your manual to make sure you encrypt the data so as to protect from wireless predators...
