Windows XP is a classic version of windows. iTunes would install on it but it may be the much newer version of itunes. A tape camcorder works on windows xp but not on vista. New programs may not work on old systems but you can try to troubleshoot. Try deleting some items, your computer may be a bit full and not enough room for the itunes and try looking up some files needed for the installation.
Buy a windows 7 boot disk, and install it, and ittl wipe it, after that, install AVG Here: free.avg.com

If you have a 32bit or 64 bit computer, you have to get the right itunes, or it wont work right.
might not be using the right plug or there is another ipod or device in the computer. If that didnt work try on another computer if there is not another computer around try to reboot/restart/shutdown your computer. If your ipod does not install your itunes account or music holder/application might be having trouble. If so try the next day.
Make sure your computer is able to run iTunes. Check your security system and make sure it does not block downloads.

That version of iTunes may not be completely compatible with your computer. For example, you may have downloaded the iTunes for the PC when you have a Mac, or vice versa, etc.
iTunes 9.2 will work with a G4 processor but it does require Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later.
