Home Sharing is part of the iTunes 9 software and can be used free of charge.
The Home Sharing feature in iTunes 9 will work with Macs or Windows and between Macs and Windows. Ensure that iTunes is running on all sharing computers and that you are logged into the same iTunes account on each computer.
The Home Sharing feature in iTunes lets you share your music library, or selected playlists, with other computers on your network so that they can listen to your music. It is not designed to move music around between computers.
The Home Sharing feature can be found in iTunes from version 9 onwards. There should be a Shared section in the left hand pane, clicking the reveal triangle should list Home Sharing. You need an iTunes account before you can use the feature (See links below).

If you have 'Home Sharing' you can sign in on your new computer with your itunes account and your computer would ask you if you would like to turn on home sharing and it will guide you through the steps from there.
You click on the Advanced button and then go down to turn on home sharing (I suggest doing this on the computer that has all the music on it 1st). You have to put in your apple account information. If you want to turn home sharing on another computer, then just do the same thing. If you want it to share between two computers, then you have to turn on and put in your account information on both computers.
Home Sharing using iTunes. First, make sure you have iTunes 9, that's when Home Sharing came out, I believe. Then, find Home Sharing on the left side of iTunes. Click it, and put in your password when it tells you too. Do the same thing to all the computers you want you iPod playlist to appear on. Now, you should have your iPod's name on the computer's when you log in.
