Antivirus is software that finds, removes, cleans or denies access to a virus or the infected file. Antivirus software does the impossible. Most people have about 100,000 files on their computers. You would have to know a lot of code and you would have to look in every single file. Now some antivirus software is better than others. The best kinds of antivirus software is the type that not only looks for things it recognizes but it looks for virus like behavior. This very useful because lets say there is an undiscovered virus. But it acts like a virus that has already been detected. Well looking for virus like behavior increase the chance of discovering a new virus. Good antivirus software has a firewall. Detecting the infection before it reaches your computer is a great method of staying protected.
