Computer science is essentially an expansion of Computing. Both will focus on broadly similar subject areas, however a Computer Science course will (or at least should) provide a deeper understanding of the theory behind the practical Computing applications. For example a Computing course will (in most cases) contain some programming element. This will likely include the Syntax and some limited Semantics of a given language. Whereas a Computer Science course will cover the same material but also focus on areas such as Encapsulation, Polymorphism, Design Methods and Design Patterns. I have used procedural and OOP techniques and have become familiar with encapsulation, polymorphism and all sorts of design principles like UML and SSADM.
