What is the halfway point between Atlanta GA and Montgomery AL?

I really wonder why so many people seem to care what the halfway point between A-ville and B City is. Get a map, and make a guess; I'm hoping that anybody that really needs a more accurate answer than that is not posting the question on this site but is instead using some kind of futuristic mapping software a la Google Maps but optimized for finding halfway points.

If it's just a matter of "I live in Xton and my friend lives in Ymingham and we want to find a spot to meet up that's fair to both of us", then I'm hoping you're not so petty that it really makes a big difference if it's off by, say, five or ten percent, and you should easily be able to guess to that level of accuracy.

If the route isn't approximately straight, this can be helpful: Lay out the map, lay a piece of string along the roads between the two cities, mark the string where it crosses both cities, then fold it in half so the marks touch and put a new mark on the center. Lay it back down along the route, and wherever the center mark winds up is your halfway point.

My guess for this one is not actually in a city, but "somewhere near Winfield, AL". It's about the same distance from Memphis to Tupelo as it is from Montgomery to Birmingham, so the same spot (or nearby) is going to be the midway point for Tupelo, MS and Montgomery, AL.

If for some reason you mean "as the crow flies," it looks like Sulligent, AL is pretty close.
