Why does my laptop turn off when i unplug it?

In your case the cell phone was probably dead, and would only turn on when it was charging. I suggest leaving the cell phone plugged in for a couple hours before using the cell phone again.

it is probably dead when you attempt to unplug it so that is maybe why it turns off when you unplug It

It may be that the battery has to be recharged, that it is getting old (and thus can hold no more charge), or that it has a faulty connection.
