The drive might not be recognizing the floppy disk. Start up your computer, and go to the BIOS menu (usually you have to press f2 or f3), and make sure the optical drives are enabled. Also consider using a flash drive instead of a floppy disk.
Yes. Windows Vista still supports both legacy floppy controllers and modern USB floppy drives.
in a floppy drive, a small pin hits the area where that little switch is on the floppy. if it passes through, the floppy drive detects the floppy as write/read. it it doesn't pass through, the floppy drive detects the floppy as read only
No. An internal floppy drive is connected into the motherboard. It cannot be disconnected from the mother board and function as an external device. However you can buy the external floppy drive and then plug it into a USB port on your computer. If you want to have a floppy drive work externally, you need to buy one that is designed to work with USB connection to your computer.
This simply isn't possible. Hard drives and floppy drives work in very different ways.
The floppy drive will not work. Occasionally, an improperly installed cable will damage the drive electronics, but more often, the light on the front of the drive will stay on constantly, to indicate that something is wrong.
Most modern laptops do not have space for a floppy drive internally, so this is impossible on them. If you have an old laptop that has space for a floppy drive internally, it probably already has one so you don't need to install one. However if that existing internal floppy drive has failed you will have to replace it (assuming you can find a floppy drive to replace it with). To replace the existing internal floppy drive you will need the manufacturer's documents on how to open the laptop's case, get access to the floppy drive, and swap out the old one and replace it with the new one. This will almost certainly require special tools (e.g. torx drivers, wrenches) that you don't already have and will need to buy if you don't already frequently do such work.
The Hybernation function of windows XP doesnt work very well. Dont use it, and this wont happen.
As compared to an internal floppy drive? You have to include a case, power supply and USB software in order to make them work.
no blackrain doesnt work anymore on any ios device
Dont discount the idea that your disks may be bad. Floppy disks have been around a long time and disks which are more than a couple years old may no longer be readable. To test this theory, get some new floppies & format them with the new drive. Put some data on there & see if you can retrieve it. If this doesnt work, then yes, you probably have a bad floppy drive (or drives). Note, it is an easy mistake to make to put the ribbon cable on backwards. If the light on the drive comes on & stays on even when there is no disk, that is a sure sign that the ribbon cable is on backwards.
You must install and copy gta to pc inlcuding windows 95 or xp ..after installation you will find gta in program files folder in 'c' drive and then you must copy to a usb flash drive and then run it on your pc it will work!
So long as the floppy drive is set to cable select mode it will come up as B:\. Otherwise it will be be primary (A:\) or secondary (B:\) depending on jumper settings on the reverse of the drive. Make sure if fitting 2 floppy drives you have them set on different jumpers to each other or both are set to cable select mode or neither drive will work.
