Car battery is run down.
The circuits have nothing in common. The dome light works whether or not the key is on, the radio only works with the key on.
You put petrol in it, start the engine, and it goes.
Each suggests a failed or discharged battery. Both of them together are a dead giveaway. The problem is either the battery or else the connections to it.
Possible bad battery, check for >12.4 VDC at the posts after a overnight rest. Possible bad alternator, start car, check voltage at the posts, should be 13.8 to 14.0 VDC at fast idle.
take it to a macanic usually a sign of the combination switch, the circuit goes through there first.
alternator
The antenna must be simply disconnected.. if there is no signal for the station, the radio auto mutes to keep you from hearing static.. so yes.. remove the radio and yourll know what the antenna wire is and what i goes into.
This may involve a problem with fuze #10, a 10 amp fuze, which services some sort of controller along with a auxiliary heater water pump. Normally, if this fuze doesn't work, when you drive the car the radio won't work, the inside courtesy lights won't work, and the ability to "flick" your high beam won't work. Various sources indicate that often the auxiliary heater water pump is defective which causes the fuze to blow. If the fuze is good, then there is something else happing.
mine does the same thiing. haven't looked for an answer yet but play radio, then it cuts off and tries to play CD for 5 seconds and then goes back to radio....must be poltergeists.
I'm not entirely sure if this is the same problem, but my interior lights quit a while back, and I fixed it by replacing the fuse for my tail lights. I believe the fuse was under the hood.
Not sure if this works the same way as the Megane, but here goes. Put your key card in the ignition slot and press start. Do not press the clutch or brake. Press and hold in the button at the end of the light stalk for about 5 seconds, or untill it bleeps twice. This should re activate the auto lights. Well at least it worked for me
Check ALL fuses. If you want to take the fuse for the lights out, just start pulling fuses until it goes out. There may be more than just those lights on that fuse.
