Same as a car. The battery is just a holding unit for power. The alternator is what really makes things work. It sends the charge to the battery which then sends out to run the bike. This keeps the battery at over the 12 volt margin all the time.

Find the battery first, look for the plus side it is the positive pole on the battery, You put the red or positive clamp from your charger on there. Then you put the negative which will be on the other side of the battery. Then you set your charger on 2 amp trickle charge, plug it in and let it charge.

I charge the battery on a Chrysler 300 from the jump start posts under the hood. They are on the passenger side on a 2014 model.
take the wire from the alternator (battery) side, not starter side. Connect to center bolt of isolator and a battery to each of the other bolts, depending on how many batteries the isolator is set up to charge.
Unless it is a rechargeable battery you cannot charge a dry charge battery. If it is rechargeable you need to purchase a charger for that size battery. Automobile batteries are not dry charge.
You don't need to get to the negative side of the battery. If it's hidden or difficult to reach, you can just connect the negative side of the charger to any solid metal structure on the body or engine.
