There are many ways in which current food habits affect your health. Although, it is a cliche that "you are what you eat" some scientists have found scientifically based evidence showing that a deciding factor in the weight and food choices of an individual are based on genetics. If you have a current diet that most doctors would not approve of (fast food, junk food, etc.), then your health is probably negatively affected. If you are eating the foods that you should be eating (fruits, vegetables, etc.), then you are probably in good health. The types of food that we consume are the way in which we provide our body with nutrients. When we have food habits that are considered bad, then we have neglected our body with some of the nutrients it needs to maintain proper functioning. If you choose fast food and junk food all the time, or the majority of the time, then, you are subject to health conditions. Some of the negative consequences of choosing the wrong foods are: obesity, high levels of the bad type of cholesterol, Diabetes.
The golden rule for good food habit is eat fiber rich natural (non processed) freshly cooked food and supplement it with natural herbs that act as medicine e.g. haldi (turmeric) and many such condiments used in India.
