It's possible. If you eat your correct calorie level, but eat junk food, sweets, etc., then you aren't getting the right nutrition and can become malnourished. That's why it's important to eat a balanced diet. (:
Malnourished means a person is lacking essential nutrients. Undernourished means they are lacking in a sufficient amount of calories and protein to sustain their body.
Eating healthy can save your life in many different ways. For instance, eating too many calories can make you overweight, while eating not enough calories can make you underweight.
Eating too much calories not exersising enough
You can get fat from eating ANY food if you do not exercise enough. Cookies and milk are high in calories, so take a lot of exercise to use those calories.
malnourished means underfed - not fed enough / nutritional food
an adult who gets less energy from food than he or she needs
There population of the world that is considered to be malnourished is about 33 percent. Being malnourished is your body not getting enough nutrients that it needs.
It means you are not getting enough nourishment. Not just energy but vitamins and minerals.
You should not feel bad when you are on a diet. If you are feeling ill, you are probably not eating enough calories.
Over nutrition is when you eat too many calories and under nutrition is when you don't eat enough. Malnutrition means you're eating enough calories but aren't getting the right amounts of required vitamins and nutrients.
If you are eating enough calories for your weight/activity level, then you will undoubtedly get enough protein; because (complete) protein is found in every food.
For the average adult, eating under 1200 calories/day is considered starvation. A normal amount (taking into consideration weight and activity) should range between 1800-2200 calories/day. Initially, you may drop weight quickly eating only 1000 calories but when your body realizes that you are not giving it enough fuel it will start to hold on to everything you put in to it.
