In theory, yes it would make you lose weight to some extent. If you threw up after a big meal, there wouldn't have been enough time for absorption to take place. So you would be getting rid of the food before your body has a chance to do anything with it. People with bulimia nervosa often induce vomiting to lose weight. It can be very painful, and in the long term it is dangerous, leading to all sorts of things like heart problems, deficiencies, problems resulting from electrolyte imbalances, erosion of the teeth from stomach acid, tearing in the lining of the esophagus, and other nasty things.
