Playing first then eating can have pros, as well as cons. Playing then eating can benefit by allowing kids to cool off before they start to learn again. Many teachers also say that they do not have to face sweaty faces anymore. But there are some bad things about it too. When children play before they eat, they tend to not have enough energy or calories to burn off while playing. This can result to exercising and playing less and eating more. Sometimes children will start to talk to each other instead of actually doing physical exercise. And then there is the matter of emotions. Some kids tend to get way to grumpy or and more easily sad when they do not have enough food. Kids tend to go to go to the counselor's office more often. Other times they will start to get stomach aches because of stomach grumbling. So keep in mind, both ways have pros and cons, but being able to eat the right amount at the right time will apply on the child's opinions and feelings.
