Perhaps a better way of phrasing this question is: Why is junk food unhealthy?
The simple answer is that junk food is, well, junk. It has little, if any, nutritional value - so called "empty calories". It tends to be high in things that aren't good for you - sugar, fat, salt, etc. Another reason is that when you are eating junk food, you may not then be eating as much of the foods that you should be eating, and can then lead to deficiencies in the things that your body needs - i.e. vitamins and minerals.
It can also lead to weight gain (by being higher in calories), which can in turn lead to health problems such as Diabetes, Heart disease, etc.
