contents of the cell, is more concentrated, then water will leave the cell
(causing the leafy salad to appear wilted). If the salad dressing, in
comparison to the contents of the cell, is less concentrated, then water
from the dressing will enter the cell - perhaps causing cell rupture. I
doubt the second case truly happens, but you get the idea of what happens
under osmosis conditions.
