I weighed 252 and I got down to 189 in 6 months without trying much, then when I realized how well I was doing I got down to 131 in an additional 4 months. The first 60 just kind of came off, when you just adjust simple things. But when you are trying to lose 70 pounds, the first 20 are going to just kind of fall off. Unless there is some medical problem, you should know what is keeping you are 218, and usually at that weight, it is easy to cut out 500-800 calories each day. I would think you are taking in a little more than 2000 calories per day, realistically it's likely more like 2500-3200, when you add in sodas and drinks, cut those out immediately! You will be very pleased with your results. if you are consuming 2 20 ounce sodas daly, cutting that out only is a pound a week, doesn't sound like much, I know, but if you are eating more than 2000 calories a day cut all that overage out, then maybe another, 200.
