In order to figure out how much protein is needed for a male or female, use this equation: Your weight in pounds X 0.45 = body weight in kilograms. THEN, multiply the weight in kilograms by 0.8. Note there are 4 calories in 1 gram of protein. Hope this helps.
less than 95 pounds because 2000 calories maintains your weight less calories lets you lose weight more calories lets you gain weight
Those are two different kinds of measurements and you cannot subtract calories from pounds. Pounds measure weight and calories measure energy.
Yes. You can gain weight by consuming excessive calories, be they from fat, carbohydrates or protein.
Yes protein provides calories. The more calories you eat over how much you burn the faster you gain weight. However if you are not working out that weight is not going to be muscle.
How many calories should you eat per day if you are 5'1 and weight 150 pounds and are trying to lose weight?
1 gram of protein for every 1.5 pounds of your body weight
Yes, you can gain weight if you eat too many calories total, no matter which type of calorie (fat, carb, or protein). However, fat counts for 9 calories per gram wheras carbs and protein are 4 calories per gram. So you can (and should) eat plenty of complex carbs and lean protein, while keeping fat intake down, and not worry about gaining weight.
That depends on how many calories the person in question's body requires to stay alive, or their BMR (basal metabolic rate) which depends on age, sex and weight. If they need 3000 calories, they will need to eat 3000 calories to maintain their weight. If they need 4000 calories, they need 4000 calories to maintain their weight. In addition, if they eat more than their BMR, they will gain weight, if they eat less, they will lose weight. In theory, you can have 2 totally different people who weight 800 pounds, BUT they each require different amounts of calories to maintain their 800 pounds.
Yes lipids do have many more calories than protein, lipids are fats and Protein is healthy for you. So if you are looking to loose weight try the Protein diet, it is great, i know from personal experience
If you take in more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. It does not matter what the extra calories are composed of, 3500 calories is a pound. Protein contains 4 calories per gram, Carbohydrates contain 4 calories per gram, and Fat contains 9 calories per gram.
