Walking is about 300 cals/hour, and the general guideline is that 3500 calories burned equals one pound. So in theory, about 24 hours of walking would lose you two pounds.
But in reality, it's not as simple as that.
The math above will only work if your eating is pretty much spot on to start with.
Let's say you're overeating with 1000 cals/day.
That's easy enough, it's only about two cupcake's worth of calories.
Now you'd need about 3 hours of walking just to get back to square one for that
day. To create any weight loss, you'd have to keep walking.
So, assuming you manage to get your eating(your calorie allowance) right to start with, walking one hour daily would give you a good chance of losng two pounds in 24 days.
I did 20 minutes on my treadmill , 4 days a week, and lost about one pound a week.
453.6g per pound
171 minutes (Just on 3 hours). If one pound will take 18 minutes, then 9.5 pound will take 9.5 x 18 minutes. **Grab a calculator and try it. 18 * 9.5 =
I would say stay away from that unless you want to get big Here is what I suggest. I suggest you do 3 minutes of cardio and then as many pushups as you do 3 times a day
On average, it takes about 15 minutes per pound to cook a turkey.
it takes 3200
It take about 3500 calories to burn 1 pound of fat. So that would mean that if you lower you caloric intake by 500 calories in a week you would lose about 1 pound.
you will lose about 5 pounds. Because for every 3400 calories you burn it is a pound, so take 17500 and divide it by 3400
15 minutes per pound for medium or 20 minutes per pound for well done.
it will take around 20 weeks at 2 pound a week which is the remented amount to lose a week , however at the start of a diet you will must likely lose 5 pound which will be most water weight so around 18.5 weeks to lose 40 pounds
110 minutes OR one hour and 50 minutes... I would cook it 2 hours to be safe
3500 calories in a pound of fat if you were about 140 pounds walking an hour a day would burn 225 calories. It would take you 2 weeks to lose a pound. if i was you and trying to lose weight i would probably do this routine cut 500 calories from your diet (a pound a week of loss) jog for 30 minutes (255 calories) jump rope for 10 minutes ( 106 calories) ride a bike for 30 minutes (254 calories) 50 crunches ( just to shape up a bit because they burn baaarely any calories like 8 a minute.) From cutting a few calories and working out you would lose 2.2 pounds a week. instead of half a pound. (: so basically answering your original question, it would take a while to see any improvements from just walking.
