One or two every so often won't typically hurt them. However if the horse is obese/fat, insulin resistant, has Cushing's/PPID or any other health condition, it would be best to avoid sugar cubes and candy. If you'd like to feed your horse a sweet treat but are weary of sugary treats a good option is citrus fruits or melons such as watermelon. Always remove the pit or seeds from any fruit, except for watermelon seeds as these actually provide water. As always if in doubt contact a equine veterinarian or equine nutritionist for dietary help.
horses like sugar cubes because it is very sweet and sugary, it seems almost all horses have a 'sweet tooth'. just make sure it is an only sometimes food, like when they display good behavior, because with the amount of sugar in each cube can actually rot their teeth, and i'd imagine that's not a very nice experience!!
No....never give them too many. Sugar cubes are treats to horses like apples are. Usually you give them when they've done good or its their B-Day. Still its like humans and candy....its good but not the best if we have too much.
I am sure that most horses have the ability to. But i would not suggest it. Horses digest carbohydrates differently than people do. And as much sugars and other heavy carbohydrates that are in instant oatmeal could cause the horse digestive problems and least of all discomfort.
I eat sugar cubes daily and i am a horse called mac gyver Horses also like their manes pat -------- YOU'VE REVEALED TOO MUCH!! THE HORSYE GUILD WILL BE AFTER YOU NOW FOR EXPOSING THE HORSEY SECRETS!!
no. worms are parasites that come from the grass and larvae and eggs that horses ingest. they grow in the stomach and intestines and are passed in the feces and then are reingested as the horse eats more grass. sugar is bad for horses for the same reason it is bad for people.
A sugar treat once in a while is ok for a horse. Too much of a good thing however will not be healthy for him but it would take a lot of sugar to rot his teeth. Instead of sugar cubes or other snacks with a high sugar content give your horse cut-up apples or pears. Horses are big carrot eaters too. The rule of thumb is "if it's not good for you it probably will not be good for him either".
i think it does because sugar cubes are shaped like a cube and they are much bigger than sugar crystals . and also it affects the amount of sugar you are putting in the glass and i think using sugar cubes would do a good experiment of dissolving sugar
Yes it is good for horses to give people rides
If you mean, What foods do horses like, then they like: Hay, Wheat, Straw, etc. And for good treats they like: Carrots, Apples, and Sugar Cubes, which carrots and apples can also be apart of the diet.
card board sugar cubes marshmellow
Bad because he ate too many sugar cubes
Well, for one too much sugar isn't good for them anyway. But horses mainly get fatter by not getting enough exercise and too much good stuff to eat.
