I WILL TRY TO ANSWER your question with facts rather than scare tactics. First off, think of your body as having a "fat burning furnace". The more you feed the furnace, the faster it burns calories and fat. When you STOP eating (starving), your body goes into survival mode; it thinks it's stuck on a deserted island, not knowing when it will get food next. SO- the calorie burning "furnace" slows WAY DOWN to conserve calories in order to survive. To SPEED UP that "furnace", you need to eat FREQUENTLY. HOWEVER-THIS IS A BIG HOWEVER- each frequent meal needs to be small and high quality [low calorie, high energy]. The next BIG PART of the equation is to increase your exercise and activity any way you can. FOR THE SECOND PART OF YOUR QUESTION- Making yourself throw up may make you lose some weight, BUT- MAJOR PROBLEMS occur. The acid from your stomach will make your teeth rot out. Also- when you vomit , you lose valuable vitamins, minerals and ELECTROLYTES which your body needs to function properly. If you lose enough electrolytes, your body can go into shock and in some cases can actually cause you to go into a COMA. IT IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO LOSE WEIGHT- TRUST ME. <<<ADR>>>
No you should not starve yourself for losing weight, it would be really dangerous for your health. A healthy balanced diet is very important for losing weight, starving is not the right way. Consume less calories than you burn and eat varieties of food.
No... You need to eat in order to get energy. If you Starve you can tell the difference of losing weight and starving.
Not really if they are serious about their weight loss. You may be surprised by the wonderful dishes at a certain restaurant you have been to, but the staff there see them every day, so they are less likely to be tempted by the food.
starving yourself for weeks

The poor child is acting out because she is starving for attention. The goal of several charities is to feed starving people around the world. My teenager is usually starving by lunch time and he eats at least three sandwiches. I know you want to lose weight, but starving yourself is not the way to do it.
Chances are you will not lose weight because your body will try to preserve the body fat that you already have. weight loss in the begining, but when you start eating again your body tells it self to hold on to it more.
Not a significant amount, and it probably won't last.
If the person is obsessed with her/his weight and if it is starving itself.
Starving is a very bad idea, because by the next time you eat your body will be in panic, and will store everything preparing for the next mad starving. So you will put on some weight in the end. Starving is also very dangerous because for normal life you need nutrients, vitamins and minerals. If you won't get them you can't work, and soon you get rather depressed.
Death
It depends entirely on your metabolism and current weight. But if you care for your body so little that you risk damaging it, then it's not really a question worth answering. Maybe you should work on self-acceptance instead.
