First, it depends on where you are flying out of. From Houston (Continental) or Dallas (JAL, maybe United, maybe Delta) the flight will be about 13 hours going to Tokyo, 11 hours back (because of the jet stream). It is possible to fly from New Orleans, but this will require connecting somewhere in Texas or Detroit (NorthWorst).
