"Few" is not an exact value it is merely a placeholder used in the absence of more accurate data
It might be of value to note that in The Bible, at 1 Peter 3: 20 it states "...while the ark was being constructed, in which a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water." So we can say that a few are 8.
