There are many famous advertisements for alcohol in the internet and in television advertisements. For example, the most famous ads are from Heineken.
Research by health agencies, governments, universities and others around the world for decades indicates that alcohol ads do not increase total alcohol consumption. Producers spend millions of dollars on alcohol ads not to increase overall production, but to increase their own share of the market. In the US, tobacco print ads are required to have a box listing some of the problems associated with tobacco use. Ads for tobacco products are not permitted on broadcast media. There are no comparable requirements for alcohol, although some types of alcoholic beverages may not be advertised on TV or Radio and there are other minimal requirements to tell people to "drink responsibly" and so forth.
