The name YooHoo dates from New Jersey in the 1920s, when Italian-American Natale Olivieri gave the name to his fruit juices and, later, his chocolate drink concoction. According to his grandson, Bob Catroneo, the original ingredients were 100% granular cane sugar, Non fat dry milk, Cocoa from Holland, and ingredients like vanelin and cinnamon imported from, I believe Africa. It was a labor intensive product to manufacturer. It had to be pasteurized in package @ 246 degrees for 20 minutes.

The main ingredient in Yoohoo is water, which is combined with high fructose corn syrup, cocoa, and various flavorings to create its chocolate drink flavor. Additionally, it often contains milk and milk-derived ingredients, contributing to its creamy texture. Yoohoo is marketed as a chocolate drink rather than a traditional chocolate milk.
