Mount Everest is the highest mountain on earth, with a peak reaching 29,032 feet (8,848 meters) above sea level. It is located in the Himalayas on the border between Nepal and China (Tibet).
The top of Mount Everest, standing at a height of 8848 meters, 29.030 feet above sea level, it is the highest point on Earth.Mount EverestThe highest point measured from sea level is the summit of Mount Everest, 8,848 m (29,029 ft) above sea level. The point farthest from the Earth's centre is widely reported to be the summit of Chimborazo at 6,384.4 km (3,967.1 mi). This is due to the Earth being an oblate spheroid rather than a perfect sphere - its a squashed sphere. The distance from the equator to the earths centre is greater than the distance between the poles and the centre.Mount Everest is the traditional answer, but that is true only if you measure from sea level. If you measure from the centre of the Earth (or if you assume a a perfect sphere) then there are a number of mountains in both Africa and S America which are taller.Highest, right? Go with Mt. Everest.
Mt Everest is in the Troposhere layer of the atmostphere.
The highest spot on earth is Mount Everest(that is the point furthest from the assumed "geoid" - the mean sea level)The point furthest from the geometric center of the Earth is the peak of the volcano Chimborazo (in Ecuador and part of the Andes). Although just 6,267 m above sea level (Everest is 8,848 m) the flattening of the earth at higher latitudes makes the mountains near the equator much further from the center of the planet.
Everest. Nepal. :) Everest is the tallest from sea level. Measured from sea level to the peak - 8516 Meters - Mt Everest Measured from the base of the mountain - Mauna Kea in Hawaii at 10,200 Meters Measured from the center of the Earth - Mt. Chimborazo in Ecuador. Largest in size (Mass) - Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania Africa. (from another's good answer)
Mountains are making land heights change especially mount everest witch is the tallest mountain on earth x
Insignificant. The peak of Mt. Everest is not quite 9 km above sea level, but the land is already well over 4 km above sea level before Everest really "starts", so the actual "mountain" part is only about 4 km above its "base". The radius of the Earth is just about 6000 km, so Everest is, even taking the ridiculously generous 9 km figure, about 0.0015 as "tall" as Earth is from its core to its surface (and a more reasonable valuation would make it about 0.0007). If an orange were expanded to the size of the Earth, the small bumps on its skin would put Everest to shame.
