I am a geologist and I know of no theory of "geologic evolution".

"Evolution" as defined by Darwin describes the origin of species based on the survival of the fittest.

This certainly can not be applied to geological processes, although life is integral to geology.

What evidence is there to support geologic evolution?

Rock strata reveal changes. Some strata in a particular region might contain shallow sea organisms, overlain by strata containing deep sea organisms, and these in turned are overlaid by strata that are clearly aeolian (wind) deposits. Varying fossil compositions in overlaying sedimentary strata also indicate changes over vast stretches of time. In the John Day Fossil beds in Oregon, we can trace climate changes over millions of years. I'm not really certain what is meant by "geologic evolution." Evolution typically refers to biological evolution, although astronomers use the word "evolution" to describe the life cycle of stars. I don't recall "evolution" being used to describe geologic processes in any geology course I took.

What physical evidence supports the scientific theories that Earth has evolved over time?

Physical evidence such as fossil records, geological formations, radioactive dating of rocks, and the distribution of species support the scientific theories of Earth's evolution over time. These pieces of evidence provide a timeline of Earth's history, showing changes in life forms and the environment over millions of years. Additionally, studies of plate tectonics and the geological record further support the concept of Earth's evolutionary processes.

Support for wagners hypothesis of continental drift includes evidence of changes in?

Support for Wagner's hypothesis of continental drift includes evidence of fossil records, matching coastlines and geologic formations across continents, and the distribution of certain species that suggest connected landmasses in the past. These pieces of evidence helped bolster the idea that continents were once joined together and have since drifted apart.

Are h20 mearmaids real?

No, mermaids are mythical creatures that do not exist in reality. They are often depicted in folklore and fairy tales, but there is no scientific evidence to support their existence.

What scientific evidence supports the theory of Pangaea?

Scientific evidence supporting the theory of Pangaea includes the fit of the continents' coastlines, similarities in rock formations and geological structures across continents, and matching fossil evidence of ancient plants and animals. Additionally, the distribution of certain species among continents and the discovery of mid-ocean ridges and plate tectonics further support the concept of Pangaea.

How does observed evolutionary change support the scientific theory of evolution?

The theory predicts that evolution will happen and in certain ways. The observed evolution makes this prediction correct. It also defines evolution as happening, and as such is perfect evidence in support of it.

Evolution is the fundamental concept underlying all of biology and is supported by multiple forms of scientific evidence. Which of the following supports evolution?

Fossil records, comparative anatomy, molecular biology, and biogeography are all forms of scientific evidence that support the theory of evolution by showing how species have changed and diversified over time.

Can one oppose the theory of evolution without opposing the scientific method?

Yes, one can oppose the theory of evolution without opposing the scientific method. The scientific method involves forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, and drawing conclusions based on empirical evidence. If someone believes that the theory of evolution does not have sufficient evidence to support it, they may oppose it while still respecting the scientific method.

Is evolutionary true?

Yes, the theory of evolution is widely accepted as a scientific fact. It explains the diversity of living organisms on Earth through the process of natural selection, genetic variation, and adaptation over time. Multiple lines of evidence from various scientific fields support the theory of evolution.

Is the 432hz frequency truly a hoax, or is there scientific evidence to support its purported benefits?

There is no scientific evidence to support the claimed benefits of the 432hz frequency. It is considered a hoax by the scientific community.

What scientific evidence proves Darwins theory of evolution?

Numerous scientific disciplines, such as genetics, paleontology, and comparative anatomy, provide evidence supporting Darwin's theory of evolution. Fossil records show transitional forms between species, genetic studies demonstrate shared ancestry through common DNA sequences, and observations of natural selection in action support the idea of species evolving over time. These various lines of evidence collectively contribute to the scientific consensus on the validity of Darwin's theory of evolution.

Is Darwin's Theory of Evolution true?

There is plenty of fossil records and observable speciation to provide evidence for Evolution. Within the scientific community there is little to no debate on whether evolution is wrong. No concrete evidence has been provided by anyone to dispute the claims of evolution since its formulation by Darwin, otherwise it would have been discarded through the scientific method.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------While the above is right, observation and scientific studies provide evidence and arguments to the theory.

Why is evolution a theroy?

Evolution is a scientific theory because it provides a well-supported explanation for the diversity of life on Earth based on observable evidence from fields like biology, genetics, geology, and paleontology. The theory of evolution has been tested and confirmed through numerous scientific studies and continues to be refined as new evidence emerges. In scientific terms, a theory is an explanation that has been rigorously tested and supported by multiple lines of evidence, not just a guess or hypothesis.

How does fossil evidence from the ancestors of whales support evolution?

How is fossil evidence of evolution dissproved?

Fossil evidence of evolution is not typically disproved, as fossils are considered crucial pieces of evidence in supporting the theory of evolution. However, the interpretation of fossil evidence can sometimes be open to debate or revision based on new discoveries or scientific understanding. Overall, the accumulation of diverse fossil evidence provides strong support for the concept of evolution and the relatedness of different species.

What is the idea that evolution is mathematically impossible?

The idea that evolution is mathematically impossible is a misconception. Evolution is a well-supported scientific theory that explains the diversity of life on Earth through gradual changes in populations over generations via mechanisms like natural selection and genetic drift. Mathematical models and evidence from various scientific fields support the concept of evolution.
