I was just looking for this... the Google-consensus is that it is in fact a tropical biome with a 12-month growing season.
The only confirmation I got was a USDA Agriculture pdf, which mentions it offhand, and a blog based out of Hilo, Hawaii.

∙ 10y agoHawaii does not have a hot season/ cold season- but they do have a rainy season dry season. Temperatures stay pretty much the same all year.
