according to me ,heat mixture of iodine and sand.iodine will sublime according to its property and you will get sand . according to me ,heat mixture of iodine and sand.iodine will sublime according to its property and you will get sand . according to me ,heat mixture of iodine and sand.iodine will sublime according to its property and you will get sand .
Very simple. Heat the mixture. Iodine sublimates at low temperatures, so if you heat it with an evaporating dish above it filled slightly with cool water, the iodine will collect on the bottom of the dish as a solid. However gaseous iodine is toxic to humans, so it's best done in a fume hood.
Centrifugation would seperate the two.As it spins the solid (sand) would go to the bottom of the tube and the liquid (iodine) would be at the top.
Hope this helps.
a magnet will attract only iron. Alcohol will dissolve iodine, but not sand.
Povidone Iodine is a mixture of Polyvinylpyrrolidone and Iodine. Tincture of Iodine is a mixture of Elemental Iodine + KI/NaI dissolved in a mixture of ethanol & water
No. Iodine is an element.
chemical
Povidone iodine is and aqueous iodine mixture used to sterilize surgical site pre-surgery.
Iodine is not soluble in water but soluble in organic solvents; sodium chloride is soluble in water. Method 1: dissolving of the mixture in water, filtering, washing of the filter, recovery of iodine from the filter Method 2: dissolving of the mixture in chloroform, filtering, recovery of iodine from the solution by air evaporation at room temperature
Iodine is a chemical element; not a mixture, not a compound.
Well every school kid knows about the 'cold finger' separation technique. Iodine changes from a solid straight to a gas when heated. It sublimes. So heat the sand/iodine mixture in a pyrex tube or flask which has a 'cold finger' inserted. The hot iodine gas will rise, hit the cold finger and form pure solid iodine crystals on the cold finger. Collect from the finger. This really is bog standard school kid chemistry.

Tincture of iodine (2-7% potassium iodide or sodium iodide, and elemental iodine, dissolved in a mixture of ethanol and water) is available in many drugstores. Pure iodine is available through chemical suppliers.
physical because its a mixture and doesnt chemically combine
heat the mixture iodine will sublime collect the iodine vapour separately and cool
Iodine water is a homogeneous mixture because Iodine gets completely dissolved in water. A heterogeneous mixture is a mixture in which all componets of the mixture aren't the same phase.
The difference between chemical compounds and simple mixtures is that chemical compounds feature two or more atoms that are chemically bonded together. The elements in the chemical compound cannot be separated by "non-chemical" means; physicalmethods won't separate them. Mixtures can be separated without using chemical methods. Let's look at an example with iron and iodine. If we mix iron and iodine, the iron can be "sorted out" from the iodine with a magnet. The magnetic iron particles will be attracted to the magnet, and the iodine will not. That's because the two elements are not bonded together in the mixture; they're just "mixed" together. In the compound iron iodide, however, the iron atoms are bonded to iodine atoms. A magnet cannot be used to separate the two substances in the chemical compound we know as iron iodide. Only a chemical reaction can divide the molecules into their elemental constituents.
I2 is the chemical formula for iodine. It is a diatomic solid.
By separating the mixture of iodine solid and sodium iodine.Yun!!
They are homogeneous. But they are not a mixture, so they are a pure substance
