Nothing bad can come to you personally from not reducing your carbon footprint (except global warming and climate change!), but it is still good to do things that are better for the earth so that it will stay clean and reduce carbon dioxide pollution.

This is a very serious issue that the world is facing today.

If steps are not taken to reduce that amount of CO2 released in the atmosphere then our environment and all the living organisms on this planet will suffer severely.

One way to solve this problem is to harness more renewable sources of energy instead of burning fossil fuels.

Carbon dioxide traps heat in the atmosphere; some other gases do this as well. If carbon dioxide emissions are not reduced, more and more heat will be trapped in the atmosphere instead of escaping into space.

Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere will continue to increase, trapping more heat. Global warming will become worse and the effects of climate change will continue.

Extra heat in the atmosphere is energy. This energy is spent adding strength to winds and storms. This energy takes up more moisture from land and sea. Some lands become drier with fewer crops, and some get flooded with extra rain.

How can we reduce your carbon footprint?

If you want to reduce your carbon footprint, you can reduce your emissions of CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere.

How do you reduce carbon dioxide emissions?

Recycle things such as plastic so as to reduce the use of plastic.

How might a gas tax reduce carbon dioxide emissions?

higher prices means people will drive less, and when people drive less carbon dioxide emissions are reduced.

What has to reduce to solve the problem of global warming?

We have to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide and methane, the greenhouse gases, into the atmosphere.

Does wind energy reduce carbon dioxide emissions?

Yes, of course, the eolian energy is not polluting.

How does saving energy reduce carbon dioxide emmisions?

Almost all fuel used to create energy (coal, oil, gas) causes carbon dioxide emissions, therefore not using aka saving energy will reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Nature produces most of the carbon dioxide. Man produces about 6% of all CO2 produced. Much of this by items that would otherwise rot and create CO2 naturally.

Should you have Carbon tax?

Yes we should have a carbon tax because it encourages companies that pollute with carbon dioxide to reduce their emissions. This will be better for the world and for everyone in it.

What are green house emission?

There are four different greenhouse emissions that help to reduce the emissions on the earth. These four include methane, carbon dioxide, fluorinated gases and nitrous oxide.

What type of things could be done around the home to reduce carbon dioxide emissions?

One thing that can be done in the home to reduce carbon emissions is to change the light bulbs with energy saving bulbs. Another helpful thing is to change air filters annually.

Which fossil fuel can be made to burn cleaner and reduce carbon dioxide emissions if it is combined with purified oxygen?

I dont know :P

What is the solution to emissions?

Emissions from factories can be reduced by installing 'green' devices to reduce the amount of soot, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. The Government can also promote the use of public transport instead of private transport so as to reduce exhaust given out by cars. Saving electricity can also reduce the amount of fossil fuels burnt, which releases carbon dioxide too.

How does afforestation offset global warming?

Forests absorb carbon dioxide (CO2) and store the carbon. A company or country emitting CO2 can plant trees to 'offset', or counterbalance their emissions. They may find it cheaper to do this rather than to reduce their emissions. Through afforestation they reduce their carbon footprint, and raise their standing among their peers.
