There are two ways to spell it:

EITHER: SULFUR ( Being American English ) OR: SULPHUR ( British English )

The Americans tend to spell the word "sulFur", while the commonwealth spelling has traditionally been "sulPHur". However, some British organisations have told UK citizens to spell it with an "f", though both are still correct. Though, generally, citizens of the commonwealth should spell it with a "pH" and not concede to the American spelling unless it becomes compulsory.
