Which one of the following scientists did not study the properties of light?

Kepler (Penn Foster page 1 through page 5) Kepler is the only scientists not mentioned in this section.

How did they discover tectonic plates?

This is not true. It was NOT Alfred Wegener. Wegener discovered that the continents moved. He didn't know how or why in 1915 and in 1960 (30 years after he died) Scientists discovered that there must be some sort of force behind Wegener's theory. When they discovered the Asthenosphere and the convention currents in the the Asthenosphere it was quite a shock, even more surprising, when they discovered that the magnetic north pole seemingly wandered all over the place. This meant either the north pole was moving or the continents were moving and since the north pole is put, the continents moved. In 1960 during World War II a bunch of seismometers were installed to monitor nuclear testing. The scientists were completely interested in the fact that all the earthquakes, volcanoes and such were following one another, showing distinct belts which were in fact the tectonic plates. For the most part I don't know who EXACTLY discovered the plates but I would just say the seismometers. :P Lol, I just got that all out in a rush. XD

What movement occurs with ground water?

Groundwater moves through the Earth's subsurface in response to gravity. It can flow horizontally, following the slope of the water table, or vertically, as it percolates through pore spaces in the soil or rock. The movement of groundwater is influenced by factors such as permeability of the material it is flowing through, hydraulic gradient, and pressure gradients.

Why do scientists follow a set order of steps when carrying out a scientific investigation?

Following a set order of steps in a scientific investigation, such as the scientific method, helps to ensure that the process is logical, objective, and repeatable. This systematic approach allows scientists to form a hypothesis, design experiments, collect data, and draw conclusions in a structured and organized way, promoting consistency and reliability in their findings.

Paleomagnetic evidence was used to confirm which of the following hypotheses?

Paleomagnetic evidence was used to confirm the theory of plate tectonics. By studying the alignment of magnetic minerals in rocks, scientists were able to support the idea that continents have moved over time, providing evidence for the movement of tectonic plates.
