Is Ecuador a developing or a developed country?

Although Ecuador seems like a developed country, it is not. this apperacne comes from the fact it's GDP is average bordering on developed ($107 billion US in 2008). but under the rich oil buisness in eastern Ecuador, most of it's population centers are overcrowded and poverty is ever so present ever since an economic downturn in 2002. Ecuador was hit again in the late 2008 crash, and rising taxes on private oil companies are putting revenue into the government's hands rather than the citizens.
