Positive economy means a socially and environmentally responsible economy. Sustainable development, corporate social responsibility, governance, fair trade, ethical finance, social economy, bio-construction, eco-tourism, etc. are issues under the scope of the positive economy approach. The concept is popular in Belgium, with an association (http:/www.poseco.org), a website (http:/www.positive-economy.eu), and a conference held on 16 June 2009 (http://www.positive-economy.eu/portail_contenu.php3?id_article=83). The term does not (yet?) appear to have gained currency in the English-speaking world outside Belgium. It should not be confused with 'positive economics' (the economics of what is - see http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Positive_economics), the opposite of 'normative economics' (the economics of what ought to be - see http:/en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normative_economics)
